Injection Molding
Injection molding is a process used for manufacturing products or parts by injecting molten material into a shaped mold or die. When the injected material cools, it retains the shape of the mold and can then be removed. Examples of materials injected include certain kinds of metal, glass and plastic.
Precise Production
Injection molding is an ideal process for creating the exact same product very precisely over and over again. Many things we use every day are formed using this process such as bottle caps, cups, computer keyboards, toothbrushes, car parts, storage containers, pallets, toys etc.
Important Considerations

Once a product design is finalized and the mold created, it’s a very high speed process and perfect for high volume manufacturing. As such, when deciding whether to use injection molding or another type of process such as rotational molding, it’s important to consider:

  • Product standardization
  • Number of units needed
  • Whether more will need to be manufactured at a later date

Sometimes the investment necessary to design, test and create the equipment needed for injection molding is too much for certain product plans and an alternative is more viable.

Many high quality impact resistant plastic pallets are manufactured using injection molding with either virgin or superior quality reprocessed resins. As mentioned above, a key factor when choosing this process is whether an order is large enough to justify it.
