At TranPak, we have taken great pride in our Cyclone bin. After listening to the market’s needs, our Cyclone has become the go to plastic hopper bin. This article will go in more detail on why the Cyclone was developed, and how it has become a versatile solution for other industries.
TranPak’s Cyclone plastic hopper bin, was originally developed for the walnut industry. Walnut processors were in need of an all plastic hopper bin that would maximize undamaged whole walnut throughput. They also needed a slide gate that was made of FDA approved material and would allow easy cleaning, thus avoiding product loss and any cross contamination.
The Cyclone is made of a single-piece food grade polyethylene, double wall construction, allowing no ledges or openings where products can adhere. The slope inside the bin allows for a steady flow with no product hang-ups. It has a 40 cubic foot capacity, which is more than 10% larger than other plastic hoppers on the market.
TranPak’s Cyclone hopper proved to be a great solution for the walnut industry. Since the Cyclone has the lowest discharge point than any other plastic hopper, processors have seen a reduction in walnut meal, and allowing more whole walnuts to reach packaging. With the larger cubic foot capacity, this means more product to be stored, and less moves by a forklift driver. Due to these benefits, walnut processors are experiencing a great return on investment with this bin.
Over time, the Cyclone has not only proven to be a great solution for walnut processors, but a premier choice hopper bin for other industries and materials.
