Collapsible and Returnable Bins

Collapsible plastic bins are designed to save on space in both the warehouse or in transit. They include access doors for easy accessibility to any of your parts or other materials. Collapsible plastic bins are an excellent choice to help lower your costs.
Collapsible plastic bins were originally developed for the automotive industry years ago to carry OEM parts to the assembly lines. The standardized footprint of 48” x 45” was developed by the AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group).
The standard height of 34 inches was developed by the AIAG in order to stack 3 bins on top of each other in a typical trailer making it very space efficient and cost effective. The 34-inch height also makes it ergonomically friendly for you to access the interior of the bin.

Collapsible and Returnable Bins: A Space-Saving Workhorse in Material Handling

In the world of material handling, efficiency reigns supreme. Collapsible and returnable bins are a powerful tool that helps businesses optimize their storage, transportation, and overall workflow. But what exactly are these bins, and how do they benefit the material handling sector?

Built for Reusability

Unlike their single-use cardboard counterparts, collapsible and returnable bins are constructed from durable materials like reinforced plastic. This allows them to withstand multiple trips, significantly reducing waste and promoting sustainability. By eliminating the need for constant disposable packaging, businesses can minimize their environmental footprint and potentially benefit from cost savings associated with reduced packaging purchases.

The Power of Being Collapsible

The key feature of these bins lies in their collapsible design. When not in use, they can be folded down, often to a fraction of their original size. This space-saving magic is particularly beneficial during return trips or when storage space is at a premium. Warehouses can significantly increase their storage capacity by stacking these collapsed bins when they're empty.

Designed for Ease of Use

Functionality is another key aspect of collapsible and returnable bins. Many are equipped with ergonomic features like forklift pockets, making them easy to transport and maneuver around busy warehouses. Additionally, features like drop-down doors or easy-open latches allow for quick and efficient loading and unloading.

Protects What's Inside

These bins aren't just about efficiency; they also play a crucial role in protecting materials during transport and storage. The sturdy construction safeguards your products from damage caused by bumps, jostles, or even harsh weather conditions. Some bins even offer additional features like secure lids or customizable dunnage (protective inserts) for delicate items.

Versatility Across Industries

The beauty of collapsible and returnable bins also lies in their adaptability. They cater to a wide range of industries, from manufacturing and automotive to food and retail. They can be used to store and transport anything from automotive parts to delicate electronics to bulk quantities of food items. The variety of sizes and weight capacities available ensures there's a perfect bin for almost any application.

The Bottom Line: A Sustainable and Cost-Effective Choice

Collapsible and returnable bins offer a compelling combination of benefits for the material handling sector. They promote sustainability by reducing waste, save space through their collapsible design, and improve efficiency with ergonomic features.

The overall cost savings associated with reusability and reduced packaging needs make them a financially sound investment. So, if you're looking to optimize your material handling processes while minimizing your environmental impact, collapsible and returnable bins are a powerful tool to consider.
